Sound analysis for health monitoring

Sound alone can be used to monitor animal health. A great variety of sounds can be recorded in a pig stable, but only a few of them are of interest to study animal health.

Thanks to algorithms developed (see part 4.2), it is possible to identify sick cough and to localise animals in the different pens.

Application is that on-line cough recognition in pig stables results in a more efficient use of antibiotics and treatment, and contribute to a safer pig production (from human health and environmental point of views)
