Introduction
This section of unit 2 is focused on the “human” part of Livestock Farming Systems, in other words, the management component of the Livestock Farming Systems.
To successfully develop or integrate PLF tools within the production system, one must perceive the nature of farmer's work: how they organize their work and tasks, what do they need to help them monitor and manage their production system.
This section is focused on:
showing the main challenges that farmers have to face, between society expectations concerning animal productions and their own expectations regarding their working conditions
defining the multiple facets of farmer's work and the different tasks they have to carry out.
