Introduction
PLF technology can create value at the level of the supply chain by facilitating the exchange of information along the chain.
A tool has been developed within the EU-PLF project, to calculate a responsibility index which evaluates the value created by the production chain along three key indicators:
Productivity / Cost-effectiveness
Environment
Fair & ethical trade
The value of a given PLF technology at the level of the supply chain could be assessed as the extent to which the PLF technology improves the responsibility index
