Using microchip
In the recent past, different projects on eggs monitoring have been developed in close collaboration with the Petersime company, to better know and control the micro-environment of the eggs, from the farm to the incubator. Indeed, in the chick production process, micro-environment is probably more important than global environment
Thanks to a close control of each individual egg temperature, It is possible to optimize the procedures and costs of producing broilers, from laying until hatching.
Example :
For example, one of the commercial application is the development of Embryo-Response IncubationTM sensors
For the future, on-egg microchip sensing is being developed, in a similar way to the previous sensor, to follow the eggs from the farm until hatching, and then, optimise the process of hatchery.
The microchip will record the valuable information about egg temperature and then, allow a better management.
Even if it has a cost, you buy a machine if you have the results (D. Berckmans)
