The following points as essential for a successful development of PLF:
The PLF tool must respond to a need of the farmer and/or co-workers
Not all farmers are familiar with the PLF concept. PLF has to be better explained in an objective way.
Farmers are open for change but need objective help (qualified services!) to be able to run new systems.
Farmers must be enabled to identify themselves with the technology and their data. They must be able to interpret their data.
It is important that the industry delivers (and some instruments did) fully functional and durable systems
Farmers are reluctant to buy PLF technology unless they are convinced of the benefits. They want to know the real prices for equipment and maintenance and the benefits in practice
The success of the PLF tools also implies simple operation, rapid maintenance service and good internet connection.
